How our selection process works
We encourage you to choose the GOLD STANDARD matching service.
When you do this is what happens.
If you’d like to know more about how we match you with your new puppy, we’ve outlined our process below.
Once you have placed your deposit and regardless of what option you select, the first thing we’ll ask for is an emailed list of three puppies you would like from each current available litter.
Please choose your puppies in order of preference.
We also need to know which puppies you would not be willing to consider in any circumstances.
It’s essential that we know why too, so if you wouldn’t want a merle puppy, or one with blue eyes, then we will avoid those traits when we match you with your new puppy.
We live with our puppies 24/7 so have a deep understanding of their character and behaviour.
This helps us match them to your requirements as closely as possible.
Priority matching is given as follows:
- Families who require a Service Support dog. Including disabilities, not limited to deafness, wheelchair users, and emotional needs. This requires a dog who is very attentive, quick to learn, and problem solve, clever and empathetic.
- Families who require a Search and Rescue dog. This requires a dog with a great nose, who is attentive, people oriented, and a problem solver.
- Families with very young children or children with special needs. This requires a quieter, calmer puppy with less prey/chase drive. Preferably with an "off switch"!
- Families who intend to do high level competitive sports. This includes performance dog sports like agility, heel work to music, and trick training. Each handler (especially experienced ones) will have slightly different requirements, so matching is done by watching things like prey drive, motivation for treat training, and seeing if a puppy is bold, athletic and fast.
- Older, less active families. Requires a slightly lazy puppy with a lower prey drive, a cuddly nature, and an “off switch”.
- All other families.
The good news is that most puppies will be highly suited to almost all families.
When matching puppies to their new families, our main goal is to make sure that puppies with specific characteristics like a high prey-drive don’t get placed into a less active home where you may struggle to meet that puppy’s needs.
For example: placing a high drive pup in a less active home where they struggle to fulfil the needs of the puppy.
Or place a lazy low motivation pup into a highly competitive sports home.

What do we provide and do? Key points .........................................
- Puppies are born and reared inside my busy house.
- We provide regular photo's and video of the puppies with and without the mother, from birth growing up, trying to highlight different aspects of their education and growth.
- They are dewormed every 2 weeks from 2 to 3 weeks of age.
- At 2 weeks of age we introduce the litter tray to encourage the start of house training as they start to naturally move away from the bed to "go".
- We introduce toys, new smells, additional handling, surfaces to increase their brain growth and stress control features.
- Depending on the size of the litter, from 3 - 4 weeks of age they are started on a high quality Human Grade, raw diet of mince from various species (lamb, beef, turkey, chicken, tripe etc) and Lidl’s full fat yogurt,
- At 4 weeks they are introduced to different environments like outdoors when the weather permits, kitchen etc. and start to spend more and more time outdoors during the day.At 6 weeks old they are given smashed up RAW chicken carcasses to simulate what the mother would naturally do by chewing, swallowing and then regurgitating food for her pups,
- at about 6 weeks, we also offer a 60 to 80% meat dry food/kibble (we don’t like this, but we know some folks don’t like the idea of feeding a natural product like raw meaty bones).
- At around 6 weeks they are moved to the conservatory to give them more space to play and the opportunity to learn to go outside when needing the toilet.
- They are microchipped,
- The pups are vet checked for heart function and general health and defects at 8 weeks just before you collect them.
- They come with a pedigree of each parent.
- 4 weeks free insurance
- First Vaccinations
- sufficient food to last four days,
- and something that smells of Mum and siblings.
- Very Extensive Puppy Instructions Manual including links to training website and videos.
We have a lifetime commitment to our puppies and will always, provide you with FREE, full after sales email advice and support.
However, you must inform us if there are any health or training issues with your puppy.
We cannot help or continue to improve if you keep us in the dark.
Also our puppies MUST be returned to us, if you can no longer keep them, as we like to know where our puppies are!
Please note that we cannot guarantee if this pup will by Hypoallergenic (not trigger allergy reactions).
But we are happy to take the puppy back if you are purchasing it because of the potential to be hypoallergenic and it still triggers allergic reactions In this instance alone, the full purchase price refund (less deposit) will be given once the puppy has been found a new home, if you return the dog in good mental and physical health within 7 days. (see the puppy contract for more details on this).

Please do NOT place a deposit until you have received
the written go-ahead from me, that your application for a Border Colloodle has been accepted.
The non-refundable deposit will guarantee (subject to T&C) you a suitable puppy, based on character, from the next available litter or can be transferred to any of our litters (within one year)
This is a non-refundable deposit but if for some reason there is not a suitable puppy available, then we are very happy to transfer the deposit to the next litter, or if for some reason, we, the breeder, are unable to breed and offer you a puppy from a litter of suitable puppies within one calendar year, we will return your deposit, unless WE BOTH otherwise agree in writing.
Placing a deposit basically guarantee's:-
- at least one suitable puppy by character, is available for you, from an agreed litter.
- That we will produce a puppy of suitable character for you within a 12 month period, (from the time the deposit is placed)
- The deposit is also """subject to the 8 week old puppies character being suited to your level of canine experience and lifestyle requirements.""""
This means, that when, I, as the Breeder, finally meets you face to face, I also have the right to say:-
"SORRY, I believe that you are not suited to having one of my puppies"
in which case I will gladly refund the deposit in full.
- The deposit is taken for many reasons,
- to ensure you are committed to your new addition,
- to ensure you will not waste our time,
- to cover re-advertising and other costs if you do not take a puppy.
But most important of all, our deposit and waiting list, help us base future mating decisions and resulting litters on orders placed with us well in advance.
We bring these babies into the world based on prospective orders and enquirers.
Help us to plan so we can produce the best possible puppies for your family.
If you have already placed your deposit before visiting us, and on your visit, you are genuinely not happy with the welfare of our animals, we will gladly refund your deposit, provided you email us your concerns, stating clearly what you are unhappy with.
We ask for this request in writing as we strive to do the best for our dogs and will therefore take constructive criticism to heart, and where possible, using appropriate advice from qualified professionals, we will use this to continue to improve and adapt our program accordingly.
If you do not visit us by the time the pup is 8 weeks old, your deposit is forfeit, unless mutually agreed or changed by the breeder in writing. (3 hours "google maps" drive or more away exemption confirmed in writing).
The pup will then be offered to the next suitable person.
We trust that everything is crystal clear and we are all well prepared and look forward to your family joining our extended canine family.
